I'd go to Spirit. Likely to have a better contact and maybe an upgrade before a flow-up from Envoy to AA could take place. And maybe you end up liking Spirit - after the contract improves. Current starting pay there SUCKS,

10% is pretty reasonable. I know several regionals who have a higher fail rate. Not everyone who shows up for training should be a pilot.

Training departments don’t fail, students do.

Quote: Spirit is a dumpster fire right now. Low morale, new contract is years away at best. Upgrade is non existent for new hires unless another significant aircraft order is made. Training department failure rate nearing 10%. Seriously don't waste your time.

I agree with you. And anyone who has even remotely struggled through 121 training is taking a huge risk coming to Spirit. Training is a 5 week non AQP crash course taught by 300 hr CFI's. Systems are self taught in your hotel room after class. There's an FAA oral exam, and then 4 sim sessions to prepare you for an FAA checkride in the left seat of an A320. The first V1 cut you will see is in Bogota, the day before your checkride (seriously). There is no breathing room and I just hope pilot's understand the risk they take going there. It isn't a joke. Many good pilots go there thinking it will be a stepping stone only to get stuck with a training failure due to Spirit's rapid (ie cheap) training program.

Ahhh, now I understand where you were coming from. Thanks for taking the time to educate us. Certainly doesn’t sound like a training event to look forward to, unfortunately.
