I would not work for any company that has a stewardess interview me. That is just about the dumbest thing I have ever heard.

Quote: How many other "regionals" require turbine PIC. JetBlue is just that. A regional. Nothing more.
What about AirTran? Are they a regional?

Hows about Southwest? They're just a big canyon blue regional.

Or even better, US Airways...a bunch of small carriers put together into one big regional.

THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A JET "REGIONAL". Anything longer than a 400nm stage length is not "regional"...unless you're counting the continent as a region.

Quote: Why give up your regional job to get paid $30 an hour less to fly an Ejet?
Why don't you at least stop giving out incorrect information. It's not helping these folks figure out the next step of their career.

All you have to do is got to www.airlinepilotcentral.com and review the pay rates.

Quote: Their interview is great; they treat you very well.

But, they have F/As actually interviewing pilots, which is kind of silly.
No wonder the JetBlue boys are so quick to clean the cabins. Someone with a High School education that tosses peanuts in the back does the interview for a highly "professional" technical career.

Mangement has the pilot group by the ying-yang.

It is starting to remind me of the movie "One Flew Over the Cuckoo Nest". Anyone who upsets the populous gets a lobotomy.

Is this true or more flamebait?

Not that FAs are much less qualified than the typical HR type to determine your suitability, but at least the HR folks are trained and that is their specialty. What of substance an FA would add to the mix I can't imagine. Might as well bring in some ground folks too.

Will the FAs be flying the jets there soon?

100% true. I was there. Not flamebait, trust me. Ask the B6 guys.

Another true fact: A buddy of mine finished up B6 A320 training, and ran into a new-hire B6 F/A. She had been training with my buddy's new-hire class for 4 weeks of F/A initial. She actually said "You mean if I stayed 2 extra weeks, I could be a pilot"?

I love Flight Attendants, God bless them, they do a job I could never do. Having said that, they will never even come close to what we go through in order to get there, hence, they will never, ever, make as much money as we do, and they will never, ever, have the visibility with the company that we do....simple as that.

I know two guys hired at JB with no fixed wing turbine PIC. One had A TON of helo PIC, the other just 121 time.

The secret to both of them, knowing people to help them out as well as being persistant, going to the job fairs.

Thanks, that was helpful and what I was looking for. I guess I'll need to pony up the $2k needed for the ATP practical.

I figure jetblue can't be any worse of a place to be than a regional these days. At least they are working for themselves. That being said, if I was a regional CA (at least at my company) I probably would not leave for them. But I'm not .
