JBLU hiring with 0 TPIC?

The F/A who greeted me for the i/v spilled a picture of water all over me. I got activated during phase II and found a better job. It was the weirdest interview I'd ever been through. Anyone going there better do the prep. I gave them what they wanted but felt very "Prozac-ish". Jim Jones, Neeleman, himself showed up afterwards. The whole thing had that kool-aid / snake-handling feel to it. No offense to the JB guys. Just want to let you know to prepare well and take plenty prozac.
Couldn't resist.

Well let's think about it.
To get the pilot job you are required to have:
--Commercial/ATP License w/Multi-engine rating
--Flight Time experience to above ratings
--Ability to demonstrate above flight time w/ratins in the Simulator for the interviewto FAA ATP Standards
And in addition most airlines also require and consider favorably:
--University Degree
--Prior military experience
--Prior flying experience (part 135/121)
Overall about a 10 year investment to just be qualified for the interview.
----------------------------->>And now what is required to be a F/A?
--Ability to read, write, speak English
--Ability to smile and toss peanuts at monkies
In other words: No prior experience, ratings, training.
So you have someone with perhaps a High School Education who reads an ad in the paper before deciding on the career making interview decisions on someone with multiple ratings, experience and a 10 year investment.
Got a problem with that????

Corporate culture impacts profit. You should review the Jet Blue corporate culture and fundamentals of human relations before you make any more comments regarding the airline or the interview process.
Also, with no disrespect to you or anyone else on this thread:
If having a FA sit in on your interview and ask you a few HR questions (mostly relating to issues that would directly effect the overall benevolent nature of the crew outside of the cockpit) forces you to fall back on (as you mentioned) your four year degree and military training, perhaps you should reconsider career paths.

I'm not a big fan of our F/A's interviewing pilots or vice versa. Nothing personal against them. I'm sure they have insight to offer. However if I ever found out I didn't get a job because an F/A didn't like my answers, I'd be pretty p.o.'d.

Don't worry, I can guarantee that you will not work for any airline with that attitude.
P.S. They are Flight Attendants - you're still stuck in the 60's?

What we pilots forget about while we are climbing up onto our high horses with our noses five degrees above the horizon, is that all of the people in the company are part of the same team, and the other employees in and around the aircraft help to make up the crew. I think that it is important to see if you will work well with others while in the interview, to include the lowly flight attendent or ground personnel. What I can tell by comments like these, is that you would not play well with others, making for an ineffiecient team environment, and it may be that type of high and mighty, priviledged attitude that the B6 interviewers are trying to weed out. Just a thought.

100% true. I was there. Not flamebait, trust me. Ask the B6 guys.
Another true fact: A buddy of mine finished up B6 A320 training, and ran into a new-hire B6 F/A. She had been training with my buddy's new-hire class for 4 weeks of F/A initial. She actually said "You mean if I stayed 2 extra weeks, I could be a pilot"?

I heard the same joke about eight years ago from a AA Capt about an AA F/A.
Either the same F/A or you are telling stories.
Give the F/A's a break - they are just trying to make a living.

Personally I'm very happy at JetBlue. I would probably be also happy at Continental but with a wife and 2 kids I couldn't survive on Continentals first year pay and no medical benefits for six months. Unfortunately your compensation package is a joke.

Finished the app online. Is that it (took me like 10 minutes). Where is the whole 10 year employment and address background. Just want to make sure I have not missed a link or something. What about the LOR's, how do you attach them.
Thanks
