So I was supposed to be done at 0630 this morning but they have us babysitting a plane that they couldn’t fix yesterday and still not fixed this morning, and no update on when it will be fixed. Aside from 20-L-2 is there anything I’m missing as far as when they have to have us back to base? Keeping in mind I’m not concerned with any add pay I just want to go home to my family. Thanks for any input.

Too many follow up questions to see where you fall under in the UPA. First would have to determine if this is a reassignment by the strict definition (see Next Steps 11). A delay over 22 hours but still operating original flight would fall under 20-M and is not a reassignment.

Best bet is to PDR.alpa.org to the Hotline. Takes about as long to file as it did to make this post.

We are well past 22 hours and I took your advice and sent a PDR to see if it’s all being taken care of properly. It’s just frustrating that I’m basically missing a whole day at home for a plane that they can’t fix at the moment. Ugh.

Did you submit to the Contract Hotline? Haven’t seen it yet.

You’ll have those day(s) off restored. Make sure you read the entirety of section 20. You have add pays of varying flavors due, day off restoration, hotel if you’re a commuter and can’t get home, etc.

Right now it appears 20-M which has NO stated return limit. The accepted standard is “reasonable” which depends on the individual. Pilot can reach out directly to FODM to make their case and try for a resolution if it causing a personal issue.

Down range and not knowing if RSV or LH the repair could take two different paths.

Never saw the PDR.

Similar question fellas . I am
Gonna submit a PDR .

Was supposed to finish tonight 11:30 pm. (Line holder) got reassigned to lay over in CLT 1 leg back tomorrow morning on my day off ,

So day off was taken away .

What my recourse and what should I expect in pay / Add pay etc .

Also am I correct in thinking I am supposed to have my day off restored ? And who determines what day they give me back ?

Thanks in advance , I am gonna start contract searching

Look at 20-L-6

Basically anything after scheduled return 50% add pay. Any flying on your day off is an additional 50% add pay. (So 100% on your scheduled day off)

If flying on your day off (not just a DH home) then Day off restoration as well. (Assuming Domestic pairing since you mentioned CLT) 20-N. Up to the company but you can ask for 5 hrs add pay in leu of restoration.

And I think it’s the companies discretion if they give you the 5 hrs add pay or the restoration, you can tell them which you prefer.
