Quote: Do you really think that will be necessary? I think “qualified and experience” is a moving target based on the application stack; big shiny jet and whatever minimums their insurance requires, there will be plenty of applicants to get this startup going.
Wouldn’t hurt. Might drive some applicants always from other operators. I don’t have a crystal ball - just stating what Dave did at JB is a possibility.

Would love to hear more details about progress.

Here’s an interesting update - looks like Moxy could start early (supposed to start in 2021 with A220s) with some used E190s from Neeleman’s Brazilian airline called Azul which is phasing in some new Embraer E2s. Here’s the article:

Interesting. A separate certificate? Wonder how that would work out for the pilots who want to be on the A220 side

Good question. The article was just mentioned in an Aviation Week post as well - so, hopefully accurate. Actually makes sense for Neeleman whose Brazilian Airline is replacing E190s with newer Embraer E2s - something has to be done with the older E190s and why not use them to start up Moxy early? I guess that is the thinking. The 60 A220s are on the order book and firm as far as I can tell - Neeleman wants to use them to fly all types of different routes given their inherent flexibility/versatility. I assume the E190s are being used to get the process started... Look forward to getting more details. Sounds like Neeleman wants to get started ASAP!

Let’s see. What regional just happens to have extra pilots enough to fly 30 aircraft due to recently losing their west coast Delta flying?
Pilots who already have a 170/190 PIC type rating?
And a Emb190 sim?
Sitting in MSP?

Bingo! You are probably correct. I’m adding one of the other links you provided:
