They have to start indoc, they come for a few days of class then go on a leave of absence. For better or worse, our contract allows it.

The 'select' seniority people are probably the same people that would qualify for the reserve your seniority crap that the company is already doing, mostly CFIs that are close but not quite at their ATP mins.

Do they tell OTS hires that, OBTW there are six months worth of cay-dets who are already senior to you and will start pushing you back down on reserve after you get on line?

As far as I know, the ots pilots can do the reserve your seniority as well, so it's really a gimmick.

I agree. Don't support it at all. I do know the Envoy MEC had casual discussions back in 2016 about letting the company assign their pipeline pilots actual seniority numbers. It's not unheard of, AA issued AA seniority numbers to Eagle CA's back in the day as part of the flowthrough/Flowback deal. So, it isn't just regionals, unfortunately.

I don’t disagree with that. Back then a set of Eagle wings meant there were some skills there. Not so much now. PSA has been sending FO’s to AA. They say they don’t want to spend the money doing upgrade training and IOE so they can just leave.... end result; new batch of AA new hires who have never been a captain anywhere else first. That I don’t agree with. Flows should have two years in the left seat before flowing over.

If AA allows non-CAs to flow, they are idiots. No interview, no PIC? No idea what they're getting.

They're moving away from this. Envoy is min 12 months as CA before flowing.

this is changing. dunno when it will go into effect, but 2 continuous years as an active captain. i assume mil leave will be exempt from the last part.

i agree though, always thought it was bizarre we were sending lifetime fos. There were a few who were "seat locked" that flowed in the past.

Also don't understand how you work here for 10+ years and not upgrade. 44$ an hour for 10 years? yikes.

They were from PSA, but rumor is they are trying to change it.
