Quote: It's usually $2,800-$3,000 ish for a PIC not getting home on the last day of a trip. I know one who has had at least 4 of those in the last year. Not that failing to get home on time is a good thing...
Last 4 of 5 tours I have been home before 4 PM, looks like NJA is sending most of us home (at airport) by noon on last day. I actually like flying last day as we usually are deep into the $120 override by last day, Won't make CAL 777 bucks but I work 5 months a year now for $100K, and after 27 years in the air force this is the coolest aircraft I have flown in a long time, gives the M model a run for the money!

You do not work 5 months of the year. Especially as a new hire with no PTO and no vacation time in the bank.

Interesting. According to APC, the daily rate for a 7/7 15 yr pilot is like $984. How are guys making $3000 on an after midnight?

After midnight is two extended days- one extended day is 150% of your daily rate. All the other schedules have a higher daily rate.

Happy for you, I worked 7/7 + vacay for years. Having said that, most people in an office job beat that:
50 weeks at 40 hours = 2000 hours
365 days at 24 hours = 8760 hours
THEY WORK LESS THAN 1/4 OF THE YEAR!!!!!!

I love reading Guards messages. He has to be the coolest.

Let’s see ....
Worked at a major, oh wait XpressJet wasn’t a major. Oh well quit that place.
27 year AF vet
Worked at Wheels Up after that
Hired on at NJA
Makes 100K working 5 months a year with fully paid meals
Wife makes 300K a year
Belongs to a country club
Gets home usually before 4PM into VA but if not NJA will let him fly the plane home to show off to his family.
Makes 3K a week in overtime and extra pay.

I love it man, seriously. We have got to get together over beers in TEB on a 10 hour overnight one time. I wanna hear more stories....

Dude, EVERYONE works very similar days per year. Do you keep saying that you work 5 months a year for 100k just to troll? I say this as former military, I get the bubble you lived in, and why you think NJA is an amazing job by comparison, but you have ignored facts, fabricated unrealistic scenarios, and flat out lied in this thread to try and push NJA on people trying to find realistic info on the company.

I’d love to know why you still haven’t addressed the fact that you lied on multiple occasions by saying you left UAL for NJA.

But their daily "work footprint" is more than than 8 hours... get ready, commute, lunch, so really 10-11 hours per day before they are free and clear.

Also the only folks who work 40 hour weeks are fast food, clerks, secretaries, admins, shippers, etc. White collar people comparable to professional pilots are typically putting in significantly more hours, plus on the leash at all times. BTDT, I sure never had 8 hours/day to myself on a workday.
