So checklist plus Neo Dual Cooling adds maybe 3 minutes to a leg. Maybe.

Relax, it’s piddly ****** to get worked up about.

Quote: By the book you can't start the before start checklist until you receive the loadsheet and .Z report. I see a lot of late departures because of this.
I think I was pretty much running the old preflight and before start this way anyway. To me it’s the same just renamed. Never a problem.

Or run the entire damn thing at push, takes 10 seconds.

People complaining this takes too much time. Haha. Ahhhhh, Pilots

I really don’t see the issue other than renaming and rewording a couple checklists which will get guys to actually read the thing for a while. Nothing else much changing. Guys can flick whatever switches they want as long as someone is doing it. I was doing most nice weather walk around a anyway but I do admit I missed that change in the book if it actually happened

Yup. The walk around thing is soooo blown out of proportion. It’s always been the CAs responsibility, option to delegate to the FO. So difference here. It’s the PMs responsibility and the Ca can delegate to the FO.

So in the end, it shouldn’t change anyone’s “process”.

Captains will awaken like the groundhog around September and do some walk arounds; eventually seeing their shadow with the first sign of cold air, and back into the hole until Spring breaks.

Conserving my angst for when the new fuel policy kicks in next month.

Quote: It’s a checklist that takes maybe 15 seconds to complete.... it can’t be that big of an issue. If you can’t manage to plug in numbers and do a checklist while the cabin crew is closing and arming that’s on you.
Ha they changed it to 10 minutes prior or when all items are complete. Must have been some delays I was right you were not.

Quote: Seriously? The previous before start checklist wasn’t started until door closed and cabin ready. So now it’s the same process but maybe 6 or 7 additional lines to say on the checklist. This will cause you to be late?
No. The preflight checklist is now the before start checklist to the line. We did the preflight well before everything was received. AOM just changed and agreed with me. There must have been delays during this "task saturation" period. I win.

Yeah, if people are task saturated due to a checklist it’s on them. It takes maybe 20 seconds to complete the “ to the line “ checklist. Many things in the AOM are changing so don’t think it must have been due to mass delays. If a 20 second checklist is beyond your ability I sure don’t want to fly with you.... “ agreed with me” and “ I win “??? You’re sad

What a bunch of cry babies. You sound just like the Allegiant guys when the switch was made to Airbus FCOM... Then a year or two later we got a revision and the crying started again.

It's not a big deal. And who cares if an FO reaches over your head on the overhead panel to extinguish some white lights? Change is hard.

Oh, and the whiny ones here like to use the term "Task Saturated" too. Merger time!

Meanwhile, I'm always on time and the Bus is still the easiest plane I've ever operated.
