Default New changes that started yesterday.

Does anyone else feel frustrated by the new changes that started yesterday?

Seems like no line pilot was asked what they thought of it or how this would work out in reality.

Thoughts?

My thoughts: after a trip or two we should all have the new procedures down. I wouldn’t get too hung up on who, how, and why it was changed.

Not much different really, IMO.

My biggest beef is having to get up in the middle of a flow to check the door. Sooo, really not to much to gripe about.

I guess I’m referring to having the PF give the FA brief. And also have the PM do the walk around. This could be the CA or FO.

Can you imagine a captain and FO walk onto a new plane (FO fresh off OE) mx is already there dealing with a write up and the CA is going to do the walk around the FO is going to be up front to deal with the MX issue and brief the FA while the captain is outside. Lol. I guess you could always delegate but that’s not the point.

And if the FO is the PF, they have to reach over the captains head to mess with switches while seated for the new flows.

Seems like they didn’t put much thought into how this would work on the line.

Current AOM revision shows a (C) FA 'A' briefing. Captain should continue to do the FA briefing.

Many are missing the fact it says refer to AOM2. This is what you get when you copy and paste. It's a mess. Another revision is already on its way.

I like the flows, but I wish they’d kept it as CA/FO instead of PF/PM. I know they just took it from Airbus, but seems to complicate things.

Just out of curiosity, what is so complicated about it?
