Quote: What a tool Newsom is. China has 1.3 Billion and was infected with 80,000. Yet he “estimates” California’s going to hit 26 million.
You need to have a confirmed test to be counted, everyone can see that test supplies are EXTREMELY limited. 26 million is not a crazy number.

Estimates are surprisingly accurate if you have a statistically significant sample.

Well, at risk of re-opening this thread that became a political diatribe... have unexpected ATC Zero incidents been much of a problem for airline flights or have you able to pretty much keep on truckin’? Asking for a friend in DoD.

Jax was having issues last time I worked, maybe week and a half ago? They were closed for cleaning and disinfecting after positive test result. No idea what the duration of such an event is, merely heard chatter on the radio.

Maybe it's a good time to review IFR no radio communication procedures?

Seems like it's only a matter of time before multiple sectors shut down on the same day.

There’s protocol for no radar, what if there’s no one in the other end to hear your position reports? Is that covered in the AIM?

...has worked for some... only because the ATC controllers had no clue and couldn’t call the bluff 🥸

also no random rnav without radar... etc etc. FAA has no good answer so far. Just wondering if the airlines have come up with an SOP since they stand to lose the most $$ when a sector jams up.
