If true I’d be pretty happy with that.

I hope not. Because that’s not gonna be enough. Not even close.

20% reduction isn’t enough? I would be surprised if they would even give out 500 exto with 500 vsp takers. If they are planning on full schedule in December I find it hard for them to swallow letting 20% go.

Now if we go back to April travel numbers then we can fly with much much less..... I guess we will find out in a week.

20% staffing reduction enough?! I’m afraid not given how loads have dropped off and future bookings have plummeted. Not trying to be a Negative Nancy here but IMHO we’d need at least a 1/3 reduction in staffing. Anyway, doing my part.....

I think 20% will do a lot of good, plus they still want to be spoiled up to take advantage of this when the time is right. Vaccines are entering final testing, last test 100% created anti bodies which is great. Wish it was more but 500/1500 eligible is pretty good.

its a revenue issue more than anything, furlough 2000 they only gain about 15 day’s worth of burn max

If true, I think that is a pretty good target number.

20 percent is about perfect. Not sure why you would think otherwise, whack. If you shrink the airline too much, you run into issues on the back side of this thing, which will occur. I am glad that HQ decided to own their intentional decision to overman and hope that it isn't ever repeated in the future. It has cost them hundreds of millions of dollars.

Look for some of the VSP takers to chicken out and rescind their offer, but I would put that at a couple percent.

AA sent out WARN notices to ~17% of their pilot group and they are arguably in worse shape than SWA.

20% at Southwest seems like great news if true.

I really think they are hoping for a combined minimum of 2000. We were way over staffed before this even started. We won’t be flying a near full schedule this fall. Yesterday the email from the company already said they are pulling flights out of the August schedule. They made it clear they are awarding all ExTO bids. They only need 30 days to bring people back and if out less than 6 months it’s just one sim.

3% for Aug. That’s nothing compared to the Mar-May bloodbath. It’s like 100 flights.

We’re not furloughing this year. Definitely not if B6, NK and F9 don’t. If bookings, etc are way down for next summer I could see them coming to Swapa for concession talk but nobody knows what a year from now looks like. With vaccines likely in the Fall and death rate dropping we just need to get cases down so things can stay open.
