Quote: But some smart pilots on airlinepilotcentral said it was just a cold......

Also....glad you are seemingly on the other side of this.
Thanks. This may be asymptomatic event for some. Not everybody that gets it gets sick.

The important thing is to have knowledge and awareness of the symptoms in case they appear. Do not blow them off.

And i have no idea where my exposure occurred. Im NQAT. I mask up, use sanitizer, and remain distanced. As a caregiver for aged family member i am pretty fanatical.

And it still got me.

I discussed your post with my wife; I appreciate the debrief. Awful time and I’m glad you’re on the backside (intentional) of it now.

Also when calling to get tested i was told no symptoms...no test. My thought at that requirement was WTF would I be calling to be tested if I wasnt sick?

Rx protocol was 5 day z-pack AB, plus steroid inhaler. And albuterol inhaler. Now go home and if symptoms become extreme go to ER.

Non Rx was to dose Vitamin C and zinc

It took 6 days to get test result that my symptoms already told me the result would be.

Earliest was fatigue, and a nusiance shortness of breath. Then came intense headaches for a couple of days followed by a cycling fever.....then i got tested..... and in the hours after the test the hammer fell.

It was like being a copd/emphysema patient. Intense feeling of suffocation no matter how hard you try to breathe. Had I not already had the inhalers i would have been a 911 caller.

Even with the inhalers In the ensuing 4-5 nights after the test i had the phone in hand at least 2x debating the 911 call. And being isolated i felt bad enough i wrote a note where my paperwork could be found for whoever found me.

My $0.02? Know and be aware of symptoms. At earliest sign of ANY symptoms get to urgent care for test. And get on meds. Had I waited even 1 day longer i wouldnt have had capacity to do so and would have been in ER.

idk what if any long term consequences are going to result from this. With breathing recovering ive slept most of last 2 days from fatigue. It is understandable to me how this virus can be so deadly for anybody with preexisting respiratory conditions.
Glad you're okay. Yeah, it can be horrible for some, I worry about my father. When this thing began I started him on Quercetin and Vitamin D, and picked up an albuterol nebulizer, HCQ, he already has a cpap machine. However, I got rid of the HCQ, and got Ivermectin as the better alternative. Hopefully, that keeps him out of the hospital, if/when he gets it.

You might want to keep your eye on Europe in the next couple weeks....

I dont recall making such a characterization. It is probably accurate to say that like the seasonal flu and common cold eventually more of us are going to get this than not.

when this kicked off i moved into a hotel for several months in order to isolate myself from the aged family member i was caring for. And then isolated her with another family member who could also strictly isolate.

I doubt i would take such steps had i believed this virus was just a cold.

Also would say if the anti parasite meds had been available to be prescribed by my Dr i would have taken it.

As a fyi....This virus also came with a some sinus congestion coupled with a complete loss of taste and smell. minor side effects in the scheme of things. Be on guard, right now if i thought i had a cold coming on my alarm bells would be for covid and not a cold or sinus issue.

The more people who get this the more people who are going to get it.

So I think bizarro world is really in your court there Hank. See Nadler’s Portland riots are just a myth for details.

Quote: So 2 of 3 COVID deaths are aged below 85. That would be me. And you.

.
point is that the population of 85+ is very small.
