Have any new hires received their base assignments yet?
If so, what’s it looking like to get/hold Minnie.

MSP 200 FO is a very junior base at the moment. MSP 900 CA/FO is another story.

Just wondering here, what is the benefit of splitting the 200 and 900 crews?

Are the 200s still going away in 2023 or has that been pushed back?

Yea, I have wondered the same thing.. Why the split between 900/700 and 200??

I have heard safety arguments made before, but I can point to other CRJ operators that manage to operate all 3 variants interchangeably. The main reason is the contract, and the company has not offered a good enough incentive to convince the pilot group to give that kind of efficiency back to the company.

No telling, we have been hearing for 10 years they are going away soon and they keep coming out of the dessert. The same goes for paperless releases and a 175 program.

I have heard in addition to the contract issues it's a training issue. They would have to put all 2000 pilots through differences and OE all at once

This has some validity, it would have to be phased in and short term training events would take place. They would be subject to bidding per the applicable LOA. As it’s a differences training only, it would not be as fully involved as an initial or upgrade training. The company would have to decide if the training costs add up to the long term efficiency gains.

FWIW, in my opinion if 9E was a blended fleet, the company would not need 2,000 pilots to staff the airline due to the gains in efficiency. Again, is 9E willing to give the pilot group a good enough incentive and pay for all the training events? I don’t know that answer, but it would have to benefit 9E/DL in a major financial way.

What about JFK?

FWIW, it looks like the APC EDV profile page was updated:

"Most Junior Base: NYC followed by CVG and DTW"

that’s not true. DTW200 is the most junior, followed by MSP200.

however, as of the last vacancy, there are currently new hire slots available in all bases except MSP900 and ATL200. So in theory, a new hire could potentially get any other base. Likely there will be another vacancy in May/June, and likely NYC will start to go a bit more junior again as it builds back up.
