I think we'll never know. The CDC has said they aren't going to collect flu data this year.

Hey, flu season ain't canceled folks, it just goes all year long now.

I've noticed a lot fewer sick people out and about these days. From airports to grocery stores. Three obvious reasons:

1) More public shaming for being out while sick (and fewer repercussions from employers.)

2) People have learned to be smarter when it comes to hygiene and germs.

3) Businesses have been reducing touchpoints.

I think all of these will continue for a few years, and then slowly fade away.

I've been expecting a very light flu season... and really a light cold season as well. All these COVID measures will reduce the other things. I did go ahead and get my flu shot though just in case. I'd hate to battling the flu and COVID at the same time.

Interesting, although it does raise a question about the narrative that rising COVID cases are being blamed on people not following anti-COVID measures. If the rise in COVID cases is due to people not following guidance how is it that flu cases are down in those areas due to people following COVID guidance? Should we not be seeing a rise in flu in areas that have a rise in COVID?
