The article reads “140 this year” which doesn't mean right when the base opens. Likely it will open with about 15-30 crews and grow from there. I guess we will find out when the Vacancy comes out.

Nothing is owed to anyone, Aero. But, the Eastern migration makes it a bit difficult for the original 600’ish Frontier Pilots who came to Frontier because it was based in Denver. Happy for Frontier and the East Coast guys, but many were hoping for another western base, especially after the Denver downsize.

This lends itself even more to going to a lot of bases, and day trips. Hope you get lucky with a base near you. Commuting will be even more miserable, or impossible.

Talking about how it sucks for the original 600, how about the entire 1600 for changing how we fly completely. I didnt sign up to fly like Allegiant.

Really wonder what the hold up with phx is though. It has everything it needs for a base. Maybe not enough gates? I’m stumped.

It’s a good thing we’re not allowed to place bets on new bases, there would be some busted kneecaps in the employee parking lots.

Lots of people will want to live in the Tampa area. I didn't realize Frontier owed you Western domiciles?

I’m sure everyone knows nothing is owed. This is, however, bad news for junior west coast people. Been drinking tonight? You’re not usually such an insensitive a$$.

Yes, I understand that sentiment. The rule is supposed to be: don’t count on any one base among an airline’s system of bases. But Frontier wasn’t a multi-hub airline with a Denver base, it was simply a single-hub Denver airline. I was considering moving across town, but this news might have me moving a tad bit further. This is terrible news for anyone living west of the Mississippi, even for the ORD guys who lived in base and were hoping to see some commuters move west. Even though I never totally buy-in to anything said to us in recurrent ground school, I do feel some resentment for being fed lies repeatedly about potential bases.

I actually think Denver is going to grow.

I don't think this is necessarily bad news for Western folks. Denver and Vegas aren't going away. I suspect they will get bigger. At least in the long run.

Tampa will shake up the list petty good I think. It's going to go senior to Orlando.

This thread:
Airline you work for announces growth in the middle of a pandemic while other airlines announced furloughs in the same week. Pilots...****ed

Its true, you could pay a pilot a million dollars a year to not have to work at all, but s/he'd complain when you told them they had to pick their check up at the office.

Why would it? Anyone that wants to live on that part of the gulf coast already lives there, drives to MCO and bids TPA overnights.
