Quote: They probably used some TSA-esque "hazard to infrastructure" to rationalize it. Maybe Martha got radicalized.
[MOD EDIT: POLITICS]

Kind of like when they took Bob Hoover’s license. The best stick and rudder man I ever saw. Cut his engines in front of the crowd, just a few feet off the ground. Did a barrel roll. Circled back around and landed slick as a whistle without restarting his engines. The bureaucrats said he was an unsafe pilot.

Gotcha.

I have no experience with FAA punishments, so I wasn’t sure what the hubbub was about.

Also probably doesn’t help being a product of the post-9/11 military where it was very much zero tolerance and ‘do as I say, not as I did.’

Ya know? I would do something like this after I retire, and if a pencil d—k FAA man shows up for my certificate I’ll shove my ATP and all six of my type ratings right up his a$$.

And if he claimed your shoving them up his a$$ gave him paper cuts, I think many of us would smile.

“In airplane circles, I’m a legend,” she told me the first time we spoke.

Wow when I say that people always walk away from me at the bar and never speak with me again.

It also never seems to work with attractive women either.

Is there something wrong with my delivery? Or should I stop wearing my pilot uniform to the grocery store?

What is stopping her from flying now?
Getting caught, losing her license again?
Go fly Martha, if not solo, then bring a CFI kid or anybody with a medial and a private or better: He or she will
learn something for sure.
Love the C-180, maybe I should do it.

So here’s my 2 questions:
1. What did she do before or what did she get warned against doing prior to flying under a bridge.
2. What makes you think flying under a bridge after 60 years and 14.000 hrs is a bright idea?

I doubt this was her only misstep.
This was probably the only one they could pin on her.

There's a difference. When she says it, it's not to brag, but a statement of fact. She is.

When you say it, you're not.

Not exactly the Ron Burgundy, "Around here, I'm kind of a big deal."

Fact or not, it is an incredibly tool-ish thing to say.

Also, I’m pretty sure he wasn’t serious, unlike this lady.

No! I’m totally serious!!!

I am a legend. At least that’s what I keep telling people.

My skills and humility know no bounds!

But I really don’t understand why attractive women at the grocery store are not interested in my stories about flying.

Or why so many of them have gotten a restraining order. Maybe it’s because they are so attracted to me they know they may ruin their marriage just by the sight of me in my uniform and hat.

It’s hard being so awesome and handsome!
