Quote: I would assume that we don’t get the 13tfp if we already got vaccinated early on?

Management responded to my email and confirmed that anyone who already uploaded vaccination cards would also be paid.

Quote: Geez man. We have liberal, left (or at least center left), and even atheist pilots too. I'm sure you can make your point without insulting a large segment of our own pilot population.

And all the guy did is link a CDC report regarding morbidity and mortality. What's wrong with that? When did we go from anxiously awaiting Trump's miracle warp speed vaccine to mistrusting everything that comes from public health authorities?
When? Ever since those public health officials became untrustworthy. So like last year. Also, ever since they started belittling and shaming those that don’t want to get vaccinated. Also, ever since the same public health officials got together with this unmitigated complete disaster of a “president” to force vaccinations. Shall I continue?

As for Symbian, here’s a raging lib and as far as raging libs go, I could care less if I offend them. As a matter of fact, the more of them I offend the more my life will be complete, because those lunatics have gone off the deep end and are ruining (ruined?) this country.

I somewhat agree
Whack, I agree with what you say....mostly.
Where would we be today if people refused the polio vaccine, chicken pox, mumps?
These are reqired to enroll kids in school. Why is the Covid vaccine any different?

Because those were much more deadly than Covid.

The risk of the vaccine, in those cases, was far outweighed by the risk of the disease.

For healthy kids, that is not true with COVID. Apples and oranges.

sorry to keep your life from being complete, but there’s really nothing you can say that would offend me. Yes I’m liberal, but hardly raging, that’s more you.

This thread had the makings of a dumpster fire from the word go.

I am actually glad that SWA stepped in and came up with a carrot/stick incentive vs just staying silent. It isn't a mandate at all. You can still choose to remain unvaccinated. This IS the moderate approach. It incentivizes being vaccinated while still offering a choice.

Whack, it's pretty clear where you stand on the issue, but I think you are letting your emotion cloud your judgment.

13 TFP represents two days off to get the vaccine. It's about what I would have expected. In the end, having a vaccinated workforce will save the company a bundle of money and heartache. THAT is why they did it.

As far as SWAPA goes, I do agree that this should have been discussed with them and an agreement reached. I am seeing a big rift opening between SWA labor relations and SWAPA that is harming both the company and the pilots. While I am all for giving the company the big fat finger during negotiations, I also don't get both sides acting a bit like petulant children when they don't get their way.

In any case, I find it humorous that the pilots who are ardently anti-vaccine are crying and whining about this program and suggesting that pilots who don't subscribe to their world view should stand strong with them in some show of solidarity.

I think too many people are getting too lazy (or scared?) to ask questions or think for themselves and what we have in this country today is the end result of that laziness.

Yup. Bingo. That is how we got to this place and how we will continue to descend down the $h!tter.

It's comments like this that show you know nothing but what you are repeating from anti-vax mouthpieces.

At it's peak in the US, Chicken Pox killed less than 100 kids a year.

Mumps didn't kill, it could make you deaf or sterile.

The difference now is everyone is out for themselves. No one thinks of what they can do for their neighbor or their country.
