Quote: Too lazy to go get my iPad, but I'm pretty sure there's a note about the lighting in the company pages. So apparently the lighting issue is serious enough to be known.

Anecdotally, last year when I requaled we did a scenario in Vegas and the ckam asked " what's weird about Vegas?

I had never been, the captain says " the lighting" or something to that effect.
I agree, and it is in there. The problem is, we have hundreds of notes and hundreds of company pages. All pilots should read every one, but we all get complacent. We shouldn't, but we do.

This is one of those situations to be glad it wasn't you, because next time, it may be you. Different airport, different circumstances. But it could be you.

A good reminder to slow down and read the pages.

Quote: Well at least they were experienced enough to not have to use standard ICAO RT phraseology.
Thats for student pilots, we all know that.
Good thing they had at least 1000hrs turbojet PIC and a degree before they got hired.
*smh*
Probably on of those flow guys, with a GED and three DUI's.

Probably some ex mil guy who’s still trying to wrap their head around the fact that there’s more than one person on this jet 😎

I cannot think of ANY other class B airport that doesn't have runway centerline lights. Maybe BWI? With Vegas putting on a light show on every corner it's kinda weird that they are saving $ on lights...

Is that senior?

I guess I need to start paying attention to the lights in Vegas.

Quote: Ya, the FO is a tool.

The misleading part of this video is that the runway does not have CL lights that were working. They saw the edge lights and thought they were the CL lights. Really could have happened to a lot of crews, especially when we are all used to seeing CL lighting.

Bull*******t. Ridiculous statement. This was a bonehead move by those two. No excuse for this. They not only recognized their bonehead mistake the captain proceeded to continue. Complete incompetence.
