My friend rewrote the SV and they have had the highest pass rate for ERJs they’ve ever had. He did a fantastic job. The test was very vaguely worded before and he fixed that and now the questions are more about knowing the systems, rather than figuring out how the system wants your grammar to be.

It was deliberate.

Quote: Anybody have any feedback on taking Paris for sims? Seems cool but I can see some drawbacks
I did it.

Pros:
-$83 a day in food reimbursement for new hires, or per diem plus $30 something for upgrades. Food is delicious at the hotel restaurant.
-flights to and from Paris are paid over the training guarantee
-Paid trip to see Paris
-Some good schedules available
Cons:
-Time zone change can be a pain. Recommend staying on/close to DEN time for sleeping
-ERJ sim there is a little older but worked fine.
-lots of extra things you have to do like COVID testing, flying back and forth, etc.
-If an instructor gets COVID then there is less ability to flex your schedule and stay on timeline.
-they booked us regular economy tickets each way, so there was no opportunity for an upgrade.

Can anybody give an update on how the training department is doing please?

Backups? ERJ / CRJ?

On the ERJ side, it's very busy. Lot's of new hires and a lot of captain upgrades. Last week in Denver, there must have been 150 people either upgrading or new hires. Crazy busy. Sounds like the instructors are all upgrading to Captain at the moment as well. They just expanded the footprint a bit to give additional procedures and maneuvers training. Currently a 2-3 week wait for sims, no idea how long for IOE.

I started ERJ indoc 3/1. More than half my class was sent home afterwards because systems class is so backed up between all the captains upgrading. They told us to expect a 1-2 month wait (paid vacation) before we come back.

I appreciate all of these updates. I hope the paid vacation trend continues once we’ve stepped foot on property.

Thank you from me as well on the updates

Where in the training footprint should I be expecting delays? I have an end of may ERJ class date

I've been asking friends the same question....

An ERJ class that started in February went straight through Indoc, PT, and has fairly quick sim dates. Will probably have a wait for IOE.

An ERJ class that started in March did Indoc, and half (or more) of the class was then sent home with a "don't call us, we'll call you" return date.

So, it's a bit of "luck of the draw"
