Quote: I hear from people that a shutdown is happening soon.
Shutdown has been "happening soon" for years. I think there was a net increase in CAs this month, so hopefully some of the flying comes back. I think when CA/FO numbers are balanced again, that's when the FO pay will come up. Flying will come back, but I do wonder how we're going to cover flying out of IAD starting in January with what we've got.

Does this have anything to do with the Big announcement tomorrow?

If it's anything like the CA pay rates that were coming in a 'big announcement tomorrow', this is the first I'm hearing about it, and we'll hear something in a month. To be honest, recruiters have stuff up on LinkedIn before we are told about it (i.e. bonuses, IAD crew base, etc.)

I guess I missed the "big announcement". I guess we'll all see it in the paychecks.

Gojet has the pilots it has and I don't expect any growing of that number. I don't think Mr. K is going to pay 80k a year more per captain to try and match the other airlines. I'm thinking our man in FL prefers to keep the 80k and just shrink the number of plane as the numbers go down. $80k x 150 Captains is a lot of money to keep.

I have to chuckle every time I see this thread come back up because GoJet is still here. Will it shut down with no notice like the other TSH airlines? I doubt it, because this time there isn't another seniority list to try to sucker pilots to switch to.

United needs the lift, at least for the next 2-3 years. I think they will take what they can get. Will Uncle Hulas pay up? I didn't think JO would but he did.

We'll see what happens.

I believe the "big" announcement was the direct entry captain "flow" via Aviate that GoJet and CommuteAir now have.

GoJet won't die. They are not closing. If there was nuclear war, we'd be the first flight out of EWR in the morning. They'd say there's nothing in the contract about nuclear fallout, union would say fly it and grieve it.

The big announcement was made yesterday. If you come to GoJet as a DEC you’ll automatically flow to United in two years.

It’s in a post on their Facebook page.

Ahead of other Aviate pilots who are already on the FIFO list? That seems implausible.
