No worries, they are very good about it. They'll give you an extra day off to travel on either if desired, and they'll give you space positive if you get in a bind.

If you turn in your paperwork early the month before ( I always forget, oops) PBS will build your schedule around the military days. It also gives you some virtual credit for the military days so it doesn't build you a max schedule during the remaining days.
