Could care less what the company wants me to wear, afterall, like UPS and getting rid of logo lights, the customer won't see it, so why bother

Our MD-11's with sweat boxes have no (zero, zippo, nada) jumpseats in the back. The more common configuration is two rear facing courier seats in the back...then we have a few odd ones that have the 2 rear facing courier seats plus 3 forward facing seats. Lav's and galleys are even more variable. We even have a few galleys where you have to shut off the coffee maker to use the oven. Apparently an MD-11 doesn't generate enough power to operate both an oven and a coffee maker. Wonder how they ever carried paxs?

It's still a great place to work.

As a delivery driver for UPS it is only a matter of time before FEDEX drivers get sick of making 25K less a year. That will get into the pockets of the purple flyers!

As always I probably miss the sarcasm in your post but I thought FedEx drivers made more money than UPS drivers? However, I think they also have to buy their trucks, maintain them and also provide (hire) replacement drivers when sick, on vacation, etc. So in the end maybe it sort of evens out?

As far as jumpseating - what about the other Purple birds? Airbus, 727s, etc. - do they have a minimum number of jumpseat in each airplane or does it differ from plane to plane? All MD11s, MD10s, and DC10s have either 0, some have 2 and a few have 5 jumpseats, correct?
At brown most airplanes have 4, MD11s have 5 and I think 747-400s 6 (cargo) or 10 (ex-pax birds). I hope I got it right.

Also, are your Airbuses joystick or yoke? All glass, correct?

The FedEx "Express" drivers are actual FedEx employees. They are non-union and make substantially less than UPS drivers. FedEx ground, home delivery and custom critical drivers are actually independent contractors and are not FedEx employees. The teamsters are trying to get those drivers classified as FedEx employees and are trying to organize them. I'm pretty sure the FedEx Freight and FedEx National LTL drivers are FedEx employees since FedEx bought the companies they work for.

FedEx's A-300s and A-310s share a common flight deck and have the same type rating. UPS' A-300s are the same.

What about jumpseats? How many do they have?

A300s and 310s at FedEx have a 'baby glass' cockpit, and no sidestick.
Most have 6 aft facing jumpseat in the back. Some have 4 + 1 aft facing jumpseats. The +1 is an uncomfortable 'ironing board'.
727s have 2 cockpit only jumpseats, with nothing behind the door.
This is where I get a bit vague, as I don't jumpseat so much in the MDs. I'm sure someone will correct me;
The DC10s have 2 aft facing jumpseats behind the barrier, and to the best of my knowlege we have no 'sleeper' DC10s. I believe this applies to both -10 and -30 airplanes.
MD10s (converted DC10 with MD11 glass up front) have 3 forward facing jumpseats behind the cockpit.
MD11s I have very little experience with, and I'll defer to the Baron on these.
As far as I know, all types have two cockpit jumpseat as well, though a possible exception would be some A 310s. Also, I was once kicked off of an MD10 b/c there were three jumpers behind the cockpit, and one in the cockpit, and while there was a second cockpit jumpseat, despite the captain's best efforts, the second cockpit jumpseat was not on the weight and balance. This may well have been a fluke because the airplane recently came out of DC10 to MD10 mod, and the second seat had been overlooked.

Thanks for the replies. So if purple MD11s/MD10s and DC10s do not have sleepers, what do the IROs use for rest? The jumpseat?

Some call it a "futon". It's about a 3" thick plastic covered piece of foam that we lay on the floor. On flights that require two full crews we always have an MD with a sleeper. Our coffins are set up the same as yours, just no jumpseats in the back.
