E190 Pilots take a pay cut.

The new JetBlue Scheduling Guide has been distributed. Airbus pilots get a 28% pay raise in Junior Assignment rates, while the E190 pilots take a 36% pay cut in JA rates.

Someone want to explain what "value" is being represented in this face slap?

Where are you getting your figures from? The steepest "cut" I'm seeing in the E-190 JA rates are for the 5th yr FO rates, at 29.2% off the previous figure. Likewise, the highest "raise" for A-320 JA rates is for 1st yr captains, at 41.6%. The rest are far below that.

This is the first time I've seen the JA rates make rational sense. Why must it always be an us/them for some people? And honestly, how often do you get JA'd anyway? If that extra $20 in your pocket is going to make or break you when you're JA'd, then I'll leave it in your v-file from that mountain of riches I'll have when I am. What a complaint about nothing.

We might be getting all agitated over a misprint.
But. If it is true, why is the 190 taking a paycut and the bus an increase?

No, not an error. And thanks Blue Dude for the "shut up and color". But with all the disruptions to the E190 schedule of late, yes, they are more likely to be JA'd. They were sold a bill of goods when told that the 190 bid, while paying cr@p wages, would be a QOL bid. How about the fact that line holders are having their full lines taken from them and given to very junior reserve check airmen and forced to sit reserve for months on end, all contrary to the language in the Scheduling Guide? Some QOL.

I'm still trying to find which core value justifies the A320 getting a pay raise while the E190 pilot gets a pay cut. Yes, it is not a lot of money (which is SOP on the E190), but it's the principle of the matter, and the signal it sends to the E190 pilots that they are they b@stard step child when it comes to $$. "Rational sense", Blue Dude? C'mon!

No, not "shut up and color." It just sounds like you're whining over not much.

The JA rates were designed for a single pay rate, and didn't make a whole lot of sense even then. So what would make you happy? Single pay rate for both aircraft? Me too, but you and I know it's not going to happen. So the JA rates are now a percentage of pay. Of course that implies that the EMB will result in less money than the Airbus. Maybe you'd like a 50% JA rate. That would make the JA rates on the EMB about the same as before. But look out! That would mean more money for the Airbus. The bastards! Maybe you'd like to leave the old rate alone. That would mean that some EMB pilots are getting close to a 60% JA rate, while the Airbus pilots get much less. Yah, that's "fair". Seems the me the "fairest" way to go is a straight percentage, and that's exactly what has happened. The only mistake I see here is that the new JA rates should have been implemented before the E-190 bid, not after. That does seem like a slap.

I have not seen the new sked guide but I have seen the email KK put out today. If there is a JA pay problem send email to the address provided in his jetBlue post. We should ALL do it so there is good viz given to that section.

This would be correct, if we didn't have a means to resolve these types of questions. We do, so hopefully we aren't going down that route... yet.
