The insult comment was justified. The Skywest offer was only for the amount of money XJT had in the bank(getting XJT for nothing), they weren't going to respect the scope language of the pilots, they were going to shift flying from XJT to skywest thus losing the jobs anyway. The BOD gave skywest the finger it never made it to the pilots. So for you to poke a stick at the pilots while they are down is ridiculous.

Poking a stick at pilots while they are down? You got to be kidding me. I won't even continue this childish arguement - Observing your past posts about SKYW you obviously hold a grudge. I'm not a Koolaid drinker either - I'm a 30 percenter at SKYW - I've worked for this airline for 6 years and don't agree with everything this management does. However, for YOU and others to continually POKE sticks at Skywest PILOTS for management decisions and business practice is ridiculous. I dont particularly agree that the initial offer was an "insult" sorry if we don't see eye to eye buddy. It was simple business - I repeat - I wish nothing but the best for XJET guys and gals as well as for YOU at Redtail and all the other carriers that are suffering. These are tough times for the whole biz not a time for pilots to be arguing about whoes stick is bigger than whoes

You guys crack me up. Arguing about what it could have been! How about the fact that when all the companies are done with the furloughs, it's going to make post 9/11 look like a walk in the park! No matter where you sit in the seniority list at your airline, we should all be concerned.

I love branded, I would have loved to see us grow into the next SWA or AirTran...but oil dictates the conditions, and the conditions were against us. So as to be expected we shut it down, as it was bleeding cash. It was a condition of survival. While we're on the subject, don't be surprised if there's another purchase offer on the table in the weeks to come...but this time not from a regional.

I dont hold a grudge i dont even work for XJT anymore. My observation is from an outsider perspective. YOu bring up arguments about skywest in a thread about XJT getting the bad news (thus my comments on poking sticks)

In regards to the end of your post i completely agree and that was the basis of my comment to you and the other people that were bringing this up. In regards to your comment about my previous posts towards skywest, please take the time to realize i always try to be sure to put "SOME" when i say skywest. Meaning "Some" skywest people kicking xjt guys while they are down.

With that said good luck XJT guys, good luck to you at Skywest, Good luck to ALL of us!!

The company said NO the pilots never even had to vote on the "scope issue". Get off your high horse.

LAME
You didn't have a Vote on the Scope issue because your MEC told SKYW to pack sand in the Vegas meetings. Because the MEC thought they knew better. Partly because ream put out the feeling that everything would work out. The furloughs were going to happen anyway, but the company has lost tens of millions in market cap. The one's that got screwed is the share holders.

Right, and SkyWest wanted pay-cuts and furloughs too so really does it matter much? Either way if more guys change careers because of this they win.
