There are more things similar then you think.

If ANY airline was paying what FlYI was, they would be doing very well too.

I was sitting in KMCI for 5 hours............

Anyway, The number of furloughs I suspect is around 500, HOWEVER that is with out COLA'S, early outs etc. This is also without any input from the Union, (furlough mitigation etc).

I think (this is me talking) there will be a very round about 200+/- furlough number.

ALSO, to the ignorant remarks about Ream, he had very little say in, not only the SKW deal, but the signing of the CAL CPA, and the shutdown of Branded. There is this thing called the "Board of Directors".....they are the guys/gals that make these types of decisions.

We would have gladly accepted the SkyWest offer, it was they who didnt want to acquire us "as is" they wanted to change our Holding letter. We (as in a ALPA PILOT GROUP) will not participate in whipsawing between SkyWest & ASA) SKW also wanted to reduce our Pilot costs considerably............

PoorPilot, I got your PM, I agree and will bring to the MEC's attention

Now XJT is going to furlough anyway!! The XJT pilots were too damn proud to take the SKW offer. Because they would have to Furlough. Well looks like its going to happen anyway.

And this is after turning down a 3.50 offer per share. Now XJT trades at .35 CENTS. What an idiot Ream is. He has lost share holders millions of dollars for nothing. Nothing against the crews in this Rant, but the management and Union leaders screwed up big time.

The stock would have to go up 900% to get back to the SKW offer.
I think that many pilots don't hate Ream because he didn't take the easy road. He could have just furloughed 700 pilots in Jan of 2007. He kept many pilots employed and many more hired because of Branded, Charter, and DCI flying.

As for the SKW offer (insult), they were going to close down Branded, charter, and the DCI prorate flying immediately while furlough 700 pilots and taking 29 of the aircraft and crew them with SKW pilots to do additional CALEX flying AND requires us to become 'cost competative' or lose an additional five aircraft a month to SKW!!! How is that better?

As for the actual offer of 3.50 a share and the current stock price, I could care less on how much the institutional investors lost in the deal. That had no bearing on the MECs decision to turn down the SKW offer.

How was the SKYW offer an insult? It was a start. Do you go in to make an offer on a home, car, or work around your home and say "I'm willing to pay top dollar!" No...you start with a base and negotiate. Simple business. Pilots always fail to see the forest for the trees

Is it really necessary to for some of you Skywest guys to kick the XJT guys when they are down? Why start these arguments again? Truly embarrassing.

The Board of Directors told Skywest no thanks, it never made it to vote at the pilot level. Looks like you cant see the Forest through the trees there old wise one
