I found 3 laden's but no bin laden in denver. bummer. The hunt continues.
Tony, are you really going to spend 6 weeks away from home at a time? There is no airplane/ airline thats worth that! If so, I whish you and your family the best of luck.

Anyone considering doing business with Avionco should read what other pilots have been through on PPrune. Nothing but seriously negative input from people who worked in the past with them.

I'm certainly not doing anything just for an airplane/airline. I guess I can always work at the Quickie Mart. Otherwise, yes, I do plan to do this for the short term. I actually kinda like a little adventure, and this is definitely that and more!!! Pay is better than ANY regional in the US.

It ain't all bad. Heck, I want to see Nairobi, Cairo, and Dubai. I might not otherwise get around to it in this lifetime. And like any pilot job, if you seriously don't like it, quit.

If I go to Quickie Mart, and wait years for the US airline business to turn around, what would I tell them then ? Haven't flown in X years, and when I stopped, I was fired. Probably not a big seller.
Quote: It is probally the safest jobs out there. They wouldnt crash there own plane.

You're thinking of the worst case scenario, you're not the only one who has gone through a job loss. Things will pick up, especially after the election. It seems like you have already given up on U.S aviation. You don't have to pack your bags, say goodby to your family 1-2 months at a time, and go to a place that harbors terrorism. If your family background is middle eastern that's fine but if you're some joe from Denver, good luck, enjoy the compound.

that doesn't even make sense considering ... they blow themselves up to kill others ... why would they stop at crashing their own planes? Especially if an American is flying them...
Quote: Bin Laden was from Yemen......, what more incentive is there for some one from the U.S to actually get a job there? It's just an RJ.

Yemen

Yemen attack kills guard, injures 13 girls - Mideast/N. Africa

The gunman, armed with a Kalashnikov rifle, claimed he wanted to kill Americans.

SAFETY AND SECURITY: The Department of State is concerned that al-Qa‘ida and its affiliates are actively engaged in extremist-related activities in Yemen and the Arabian Peninsula. The Department remains concerned about possible attacks by extremist individuals or groups against U.S. citizens, facilities, businesses and perceived interests.
My girlfriend has been in Yemen for the last 6 months and says she has never once felt threatened. Is it as safe as America? No. But implying that everyone in the Middle East is an extremist who wants to kill Americans is ridiculous. It's like saying everyone in America is a neo-nazi who wants to kill Black people. She has made lots of friends with the locals and they all say they wish more Americans would come to the Middle East and see the majority love America.

If your views are based off your persoanl experiences then I could be wrong, but I'm guessing your basing it off of sensationalized media reports.

Good point
"They." "They." "They." "They."

I'm glad the world is just made up of a few homogeneous groups of "they." Makes it easy on my head when I try to think about things.
