I see you edited your post. Good. I hope they buy a second type. Costs go up. And we all know how great 50 seaters are. bwaaa haaaa haaaaaa Strange for a bean counter CEO to make that kind of decision though....
WS/GS Question

REG in June, off last 5 days of month
RES in JULY, off first 9

If I want to pick up a trip that has some spill, is that allowed? How does it affect credit for July and if I want to put in a generic 3 or 4 day, how would I do this in PCS?

Thanks

Just put in for any trip you want in June using the normal WS process. Anything you are legal for will be awarded regardless of your reserve status in Jul. You could be awarded a 12 day trip on 30 June if you want.
There is however a big gotcha. Trip credit is paid at the end of the rotation so would go against your reserve guarantee for July. That means pick your trip carefully!

re-RTFP for the third time, T. It's 50 markets, not 50 seats!

Your unbridled SWA hatred is once again affecting your vision.
Quote: Anyone have any experience trying to push CQ as far back as possible because they are going to train on a new aircraft before they drop dead?

I'm projected to go to 7ER requal in Oct, and my current CQ cycle is Aug-Oct. I'm 1 from the bottom, so while I'll bid to avoid going early, I get whats left.

Is it worth a call to resources to suggest delaying CQ, or will they laugh me off the phone?
I am sort of in the same boat, but slated to start 7ER training mid Aug. Let me know how it goes!

If reserve guarantee is 82, how would a trip with credit at the end negatively affect it? Thanks

What about a normal 4 day, with 15 hours in June and 5 hours of Spill?

Let's say you pick up a 5 day trip that spills one day into July. If the trip has a lot of credit the majority of the value will be paid in the reserve month. An example would be a 5 day Dublin trip from JFK. He would work 4 days in the June bid period and get about 7 hours pay in June. The rotation might be worth 27 hours and the remainder would be paid in July. You could have two trips of the exact same length and value however how that time is split month to month could be quite different.

Well, fwiw, I did CQ once with an 88 CA who was 3 days from starting 777 FO training. The last thing he ever did on the 88 was have a full blown off the wall type ride by an old crotchety DGS ass. Yeah I said it. He absolutely was. Never seen anyone like him before or since and for the sake of the 88 pilots I hope he is long since gone... and he looked to be on the physical edge anyways.

As miserable as I was answering the max cracked window speed I really felt bad for that Captain, luckily he had studied pretty hard despite the fact it was the end of his time on the jet.
Quote: The bottom line is this. If scheduling gets hold of you AND you can make legally make the trip as it is constructed, you must fly it. However, that is the only stipulation--IF you can make it. You are not obligated to be contactable, abstain from alcohol, or be anywhere near any airport at all.

Some guys just put in a blanket GS for every day of the month (perhaps they are very rare in their category) and may get one or two a year. That doesn't mean that they actually have to be available. But...if you say "12 hours notice required" and scheduling calls you for a GS 18 hours out, it is yours.
Quote: That's not true. You still have to be contacted and notified. You are still under zero obligation to answer your phone. You might be thinking about white slips. Green slips always require positive contact and acknowledgement.
You are correct. I meant that (you must have positive contact and acknowledgement) but did not state it. Thanks for the correction for the sake of anyone reading this thread.

Yeah, you're right. My bad... not 50 seats, but a second type will still have the same effect of increasing their costs.
