No you will not get 5678 off if you bid the 1st as a higher priority. Yes you can have the last days of the month not equal to your min on call because they will give you the requisite on call days to make it legal with the next bid. Example, you have March 30 and 31st as on call. They will force you to have April 1st and 2nd on call. Then you get a spill trip which sucks cause you don't go above reserve guarantee for one month, but don't get bumped into group 2 for the next.
Thanks for the reply! Looks like I can bid two ways, one being bid the last days of the month off in April and the first week of the month off for May or second, bid to be on call for May 1,2,3,4 over the course of April and May bid periods. Not sure which way to go. I will probably try to back up my X days from month to month. Then I don't have to worry about getting stuck some where and not making it home. The 5th is a travel day. If I end up being on call May 2,3,4,5, I have enough time to get to were I need to be after midnight on the 5th. It would not be ideal.Originally Posted by deadseal

I have to get May 6,7,8 off. My youngest son is graduating from college. My 90 year old father who swore me into the Air Force and my older son into the Army will also be swearing this son into the Army on May 6th. He is finishing ROTC.
