Rob, what ever happened to the BWI talks?

is the pay the same at SJU? I talked to Krista P. (pilot recruiter) last year- it sounds like a great company.

HGR - BWI (base HGR)
LNS - BWI (base LNS)

$15/duty hour in the CONUS, overtime after 40 hours/week
$18/duty hour in the Caribbean, overtime after 8 hours/day
- i.e. a ten hour duty day would be 8 hours at $18 and two hours at $27

Yeah, BWI has eight or nine lines of flying I think, all outstation based. Rumor mill has the suits looking for more Mid-Atlantic flying. Nothing more substantial than wishful thinking at this point, though.

Currently 18 SJU lines, I think there were less than 10 last summer, so I would not be surprised to see around half those lines move north for the JUN09 bid.

Is it possible to commute, what does first year pay as a capt actually come out to be?

Lines are generally NOT commutable. You're home every night, which is great, but you have to live in base. ALB is the exception, 9 of the 11 lines there are built for commuters, 4 on - 5 off, hotels provided in the outstations. BOS also has a few lines like that, but they go very senior.

Base pay is about 31k. With additional pay for overtime, Caribbean override, season completion bonus, profit sharing... 40k is within easy reach, more if you go for a really high time line - the vacant SLK line pays almost 50 hours a week. 4 on, 3 off - so you know they're all long days, but the overtime adds up quick - if my math is right, about 47k at first year pay.
