Quote: I was on several foreign airlines where the stews bent over backwards to stow my carry ons, fluff my pillow, and fetch whatever I politely asked for! After all, THATS THEIR JOB! Stews in the US are fat, rude, old, and extremely LAZY and havent the slightest clue about customer service!
Stew's eh? Hmmmm......... wonder what reaction you would get using that term. As with the rest of the great unwashed masses, you are woefully mis-informed if you think that the "Stews" are there to fluff your pillow and fetch your drink. They are there for crew and passenger safety and evacuation in the event of an accident. fa10, come on into the 21st century......waters fine!!!

Let me guess ... you're married to (or your daughter's) a "Flight Attendant"?

11. While eating at Rosie's in Meinz with the Delta crews, tell him you think he should order the Rumpsteak.

Hey FLMD11CAPT I'll bet your wife will let you hold the TV remote tonight with that affirmation of the value of cabin crew on the jet.

But seriously folks a great way to score points with the Stews is tell them they must have been a hot number before power steering was offered as an option.

Quote: Nine years with mainline NWA and I dont miss this B.S. at all. Best time I had there was on the Whale Freighter. Happy to be back with the non-complaining FedEx boxes.
I miss the hell out of freight. Several years with a FedEx feeder but almost impossible to get on with mainline. So now I am with a people carrier. As soon as things open back up I am trying to go back to freight. That is much more my style. I am a night owl anyway.

Quote: I always wondered why we don't tip flight attendants. They do more than a waitress does, for longer, and we tip them.
You bring up a very good point. So good in fact, that I just mailed a $5 bill to the surgeon who did my open heart bypass surgery. I hope he doesn't get offended. Seriously, if you want to "tip" the flight attendant on your next flight, as you're getting off the jet, look her (or him) in the eye, and tell them that you appreciate the work they did on your flight. That, I'm sure will be enough of a "tip."

Good one FLMD11... first you need to be able to spell and understand the meaning of the word MISOGONIST. So, were you having a go at referring to me as a MISOGONIST? On the contrary, I have great love and respect for women.

Anyway, Misogyny is hatred (or contempt) of women or girls. The word Misogyny comes from the Greek misogunia from misos ("hatred") and gyne ( "woman").

To further enlighten you the word MISOGYNY is parallel to misandry, which is the hatred of men or boys. Misogyny is also comparable with misanthropy which is the hatred of all humanity.

Let me throw another word into the mix. OEDIPUS COMPLEX… you know, a subconscious sexual desire in a child, especially a male child, for the parent of the opposite sex, usually accompanied by hostility to the parent of the same sex.

So FLMD11 which term applies to you??? Misogyny or Misandry, or Oedipus Complex?

I used to fly ad-hoc charter with 4 or 5 cabin crew in the back. When flying gambling junkets to Vegas, Atlantic City, or Biloxi, it was not uncommon for the tour representative give me cash, which he or she collected from the passengers, to give to the cabin crew to show their appreciation for a job well done. So no impropriety would be assumed, the reps it best that the captain distribute the cash. That was a class act by the passengers, and tour representatives.

I have not flown charter for some time. I wonder if passengers on charters still show their appreciation in a possitive way?

If you're going to correct people's spelling of words...You should always attempt to spell it correctly, yourself. It's misogynist. I looked it up. Just like you. And your definition sounds much like wikipedias:

Misogyny is hatred (or contempt) of women or girls. Misogyny comes from Greek misogunia from misos ("hatred") and gynē ("woman"). It is parallel to misandry—the hatred of men or boys. Misogyny is also comparable with misanthropy which is the hatred of humanity generally.

Whats the word for hatred(or contempt) of dorkuses?
