I'm asking for information only, not to start something....

Weren't the freighters used almost exclusively in the Pacific (Narita, beyond, and Korea)? Did they have any cargo only routes to Europe?

Delta is back in the all cargo business on the North Atlantic via a 10 year joint venture
Outsourcing sucks, but if they were going to do it, at least there could have picked a U.S. ACMI carrier.

There's a few of them that I'm sure wouldn't mind the business. But who knows, maybe there is some kind of scope provision that prevents an ACMI carrier but allows "Skyteam" to do it.

Not trying to start anything either...but where did Delta find all of this cargo? Where did the NWA cargo go?

And why does this surprise you?

It is one of the reasons I have been warning people that scope at the top end is going to be needed too. Welcome to the synergies of a joint venture!

We do have a lot of under wing cargo. It might lead to less payload optimized flights.

What does our scope say in regards to this happening? And i agree this should be a wake up call for the guys that still believe scope is a junior guy issue

Super, there is noting to say that, this was not known by our union. Fact is that the KLM, AF and DAL ALPA units have been in discussions with the related management about this joint venture as of late.
From what I have been told the talks were going well.

I agree they need to communicate, but as I see this, the freighter ops that NWA had are not going to be taken over by AF, and Martinair. We are just going to have access to their freighter ops.
I understand this is a small thing, but we need to see where this goes. IMHO if anything this may open the door for their being enough business for us to convert the 744's to box haulers. Time will tell.
