Glad to see this thread returning to the original question! Good luck, george, from a non-pilot on here. I like to think we provide some extra good vibes and karma. At any interview, remember to always be positive, confident and smile. Please keep us posted.

Since he's from the south maybe he can get UPS to displace you and provide airline tickets and hotel expenses to attend the OBAP convention like they do to every other "afro american" UPS pilot that wants to go. They don't do the same for us OCRAP members.

Quote: George,

Good luck in your interview! The HR part is not bad - just be yourself, be positive, and make sure you are enthusiastic. As for the sim, I did mine in the 767 fixed base sim as well. Up to the point, the largest a/c I had flown was the 737-800. The weirdest part of flying that thing is that it doesn't fly! You get no motion feedback which makes you overcorrect and exagerate your inputs (at least it did for me ). I believe that a huge key in the sim is NEVER GIVE UP. If you think that you busted a maneuver, put it behind you and keep going. There were times that I thought I had screwed the pooch, but kept going, never gave up, and I'm here now. So, what you may perceive as unsat may not be so in the eyes of the evaluator.

Let us know how things go.
I agree with 1800 RVR.

By the way......GOOD LUCK too.

So he's not entitled to his opinion because he ONLY has 1500hrs? How many hours did you have when you got hired at UPS and what factor that you are a minority play in getting you a job at a company that has more minority pilots and any airline in the world. This place looks like a combination 99's convention, United Nations and an NBA locker room!

Nope.

BTW, tell me how many hours would qualify me for a job at UPS without you flapping your yap about my minority status. Let me know and I will tell you if I am qualified or not. Please do tell.
