Edit: Damn, feel like i'm talkin to myself here..
8-10 months, if you're busting your ass and flying >100 hours a month. Otherwise, expect closer to a year to 14 months to top the good old >1000 TT mark.

(Let it be known, that I have not reached the > 1000 TT mark, these are only off of my own calculations and expectations.)

Be careful...You could end up like my CFI w/ i did my PPL. It took him 6 years to reach the 1000 hr TT mark...He still had to get that all valuable ME time.

He gave up because of the debt of student loans to pay for his flight training and Aero Science degree to become a cop.

I suggested the AF , but his wife didn't approve...

I fly between 55 and 80 hours a month...Every now and then when the flying picks up I can do 120 for the month...But the year of flying is limited to 1000 hours in my situation...So your monthly times are adjusted towards that limitation

Well that isn't too bad. Before I had done any research aka here, I looked into RAA and was close to going about a year ago. I had thought man, 1000 hours, that's gonna take forever. And they had that nice 70,000 dollar program where you get 500tt and 100me in something like 1-1.5 years lol. So thank goodness for the forum.

70,000 dollar

Its a lot more with interest...You would have worked for years to try to keep up with the payments...

Check out the thread on Key Loans in the money talk section...

Its an eye opener...

Oh yea..I know. I already have quite a bit of debt and I am only 21. So I know how it can be and I know now that is why I will try to avoid it as much as possible. I believe over the course of 10-20 years i'd end up paying over 100k to pay it off

1000 comes fairly quick about a year after you start working as a CFI. This does'nt mean you wil have a job at a 1000. I screwed up and have a 1000 tt and only 26 multi now I am not sure where to go , but yes the 1000 does come quickly. It just seems like an eternity because pay is hit or miss.

You do realize that you would be a perfect candidate for a place like Airnet, RamAir Freight, Central Air Southwest, etc. etc.?

They like to hire low multi time guys. And the best part is, you get awesome experience without having to pay a DIME for it!

What's the deal for central air southwest have you heard much about them? are these freight companies worth their weight in gold when it comes to experiance in the long run. I understand paying your dues before the you hit it big. What I am not sure is with that "magical 1000 hour mark" is there anything else without the multi or am I a destined Freight Dog

If you were to pay to either rent or for training for ME time to get to 100, how much would it cost?
