They like to hire low multi time guys. And the best part is, you get awesome experience without having to pay a DIME for it!
What's the deal for central air southwest have you heard much about them? are these freight companies worth their weight in gold when it comes to experiance in the long run. I understand paying your dues before the you hit it big. What I am not sure is with that "magical 1000 hour mark" is there anything else without the multi or am I a destined Freight Dog

Check out the thread on Key Loans in the money talk section...

Its an eye opener...
It sure is an eye opener. My bank just told me that my loan is going to be 8.5% next month. It's going to be tough just to keep up with the interest payments, nevermind the principle payments. Yeah, CAPT did me dirty.

Oh, it's a small flight training program based out of Flagler Airport (X47) that got people like me to pay out big dollars who bought into their bullsh!t training philosphy, guaranteed interviews, and low time to a jet. They told us that airlines will hire us with the 225 hours of total time (not even 100 multi-engine). They were under the Embry-Riddle banner but then Riddle ditched them like a cheap hooker in January this year because they couldn't generate enough money and run the business according to their plans. They're trying to ***** themselves out to another pimp right now and may get back into ripping off people with dreamy eyes.

It stands for Commercial Airline Pilot Training program. But you soon realize that despite the management organizational chart, there's really just one person who runs the show. And I don't mean their Executive Director either. The rest of the management team are dumb to that fact. I know because none of them had any real power to do anything substantial.

its kinda a general question, and it can be answered by simple math.
but if he what he MEANT to ask was about how long he can expect to spend in each of the above positions....
CFI it can take less than a year if you work your ass of and fly everyday and get multi time you can be done in 6 months.
Regional-you may be lucky and get out of the regionals in 3 or 4 years if you know someone, somepeople have been stuck there for 10+ years, its all timing.
Major- ?theres nowhere else to go till your 60, maybe 65

Thanks. I was mainly curious about hour building after CFI, but your answers help as well. So, how many total hours does it take to get be a CFI?

How much money was spent if you don't mind asking?

That's assuming the guy lives in the part of the country that's not susceptible to bad weather all the time. Up here in the Northeast, we tend to run into dense fog, thunderstorms, and icing conditions. Unless the guy moves down to somewhere like FL or AZ, he can be looking at double or triple your timeline. And not every region of the country have as much aviation training going on. And not everyone can afford to move down to FL or AZ and solely depend on a CFI pay (which, from what I hear, sucks).
