Quote: Hi, I'm currently working for a foreign LCC (not in the FAA system). Am a Captain on the 737-800 (NG/MAX). 11,000 TT, 5000 JET PIC. I feel that a furlough is impending, so I'd rather do it to myself than have it done to me (I think). I just applied to AtlasAir this past week. No word as yet. Are they still taking folks on?

What is the most junior fleet with Atlas? Am a family man, with a standard household (Mrs, kids etc etc). Any ideas on which fleet would be most family friendly? I understand that it's a cargo outfit where one may be away from 2 weeks at a time possibly, but given the circumstances, how would one play this hand the best they can (from a family perspective)?
767 out of CVG gets me home reliably. Roughly where about is your family?

767 out of CVG gets me home reliably on the months I need to be home. I wind up going overseas for AMC or DHL other times. Roughly where about is your family?

Atlas Air Hiring
One would think this thread would come to life again but it all seems to have migrated to another thread. Despite the hiring process undergoing the changes to match current environment much of the lifestyle information found here could be considered still relevant. Definitely a new box of chocolates was opened a few months ago...

Well, as an update, I’ve been let go by my employer after double digit years of employment. They didn’t let go out of seniority. Oh well. Am looking to this Atlas gig as my only chance really towards meaningful employment.

Hopefully we can meet up on the line sometime. Are you set with an interview, etc. here?

Atlas Air Hiring
Quote: Anyone have any info on Atlas?
According to https://www.airlinepilotcareers.com/atlas-southern they are currently hiring. I believe they both operate under the parent company Atlas Air Worldwide Holdings, which is why they are under the same profile. I wonder how long until they operate under a single certificate?

Most of the process is already done, Aug next year is a good bet for a single certificate after the arbitration award.
