But if you don't, how do you base it?
I like the sound of 95 CH per month at the 15-year widebody Capt rate for everyone.
OR... what if we were to determine how many CH had been paid total (Regular trips, Volunteer, Draft, all the Makeup varieties, etc.), divide THAT number up equally to get the monthly CH figure.
We could base the CH increment on the highest seat position held for each month since the amendable date. Or we could base it on the highest seat held since the amendable date.
Whatever the formula, I think it should NOT reward those that have been working extra, for whatever reason.
I think the total value of the retro should represent what we WOULD have had were the Contract amended on the amendable date, and then a little bit more to account for the time value of money we should have had then. It should be large enough that it does NOT represent a reward to The Company for stalling.
Furthermore, I'd like to see a clause in this contract that will trigger an immediate pay raise on the amendable date, with additional incremental pay raises automatically triggered if the Company stalls negotiations again next time. OK, I'm dreaming.
