Hey Kilo, I am glad you are enthuised about Colgan, word of caution I have been there for 9 months and am excited to leave, don't expect to get there an upgrade in anything less than 2-3 years. There are 110 FO's that need to upgrade before me, I have been there almost a year and they are upgrading maybe 5 a month, if that, and last month 2 that I know of busted their rides, so do that math I have been there almost a year and will have to wait at least another 1 1/2 to 2 years to upgrade, that being said still very quick upgrade, however in the meantime QOL isnt the best, the pay is horrible, (until you upgrade), SAABS a lot of fun, but you will be tired of taxing around LGA fresh out of CAPT IOE with Steering MEL's amongst many other things. I also want to let you know that the 1,000 PIC Turbine, even 2,000 PIC Turbine is not the 100 multi when we were CFI's their isnt 10 capts a month leaving Colgan to go to "major" airlines, we have only had one go to JETBLUE, and he was a check airmen with thousands of hours of PIC TURBINE. One female to SOUTHWEST, one female to UPS and some to CAL, very few though.(obviosuly I could be wrong by a few, but you get the point) A Captain I flew with the other day who has 4,000PIC Turbine was told by Airtrain Peeps, that they want to see "TURBOJET" time. Don't get me wrong I would love to have the 1,000PIC Turbine, no doubt, but take it from me there or other things to consider, becuase unless you have a close buddy at a big airline e.g FEDEX, UPS, CAL, etc........ 2,000PIC Turbine in the SF-340 isnt gonna get you very far, Minimums are just that, minimums, On the other hand, the Guys & Gals at Colgan that I Have come across are amazing people, really good guys and Gals to fly with, just stay far far far far away from a M/X base, (ALB Captains are aweseome awesome guys though) Good luck to you, and enjoy, Its been an amazing experience here!
