Quote: I read the entire thread.. Obviously you haven't read the NPRM ... IT's only been out for two years...
I quoted the NPRM. So much for your reading skills.

Change for the sake of change isn't always good. It would be nice to know what the changes are before we accept them.
I guess I too can cut and paste out of context.... Like the question you posed to me about reading the whole thread, have you read the whole NPRM?

If you had, you would not be debating the need for the new rule... not unless you were Fedex management.

Yea, I'm a FedEx management guy. You'd love to see my MBO for this year!

Not debating the need for new rules just observing that it can have unintended consequences.

Where is that KOOL AID machine so I can get a full glass of it ? Are you kidding me ? Flying tired is not only a jeopardy situation for the Company but an even greater problem for the flight crews fighting through it .................... I have flown tired, fought with falling asleep on duty, fought with the flight schedules. I will be the first one to admit it . Let's not be chicken **** about this problem, folks. It is real and it needs to be addressed. Of course the companies involved would not want to hire more pilots or have to modify their scheduling methods in order to satisfy a mandated change. The effects are far reaching and involves more than ****ing here about what it will or will not do to our beloved flight schedules ..................... Here's another idea, get rid of all that carryover crap in the flight schedules. I make enough $$$ and I believe the rest of you do also. I fully support anything that will make our flying safer and if possible do it without feeling fatigued ...........................

Thank you, Mr. Obama. I feel so much better knowing that you think I make enough money.
Holy crap.

That's not a fatigue issue. It's a shock absorber. Lets us run leaner so when a slowdown occurs we aren't forced to furlough.

Now the big carryover during 4A2b is unethical and needs to stop. Not a fatigue issue either.

You can always protect min days off if you're tired of flying. If it hits you by surprise, go fatigued like the FAA requires us when we aren't fit to fly.

It is 10% shock absorber and 90% way for senior guys to get a relatively easy extra 30 hours a month usually by cherry picking CIC. The company loves it because it is straight time.

You cant tell me most of the C/O (all of the domestic) couldnt be built into regular lines or to prime the open time pump. Simply start the bid month on Sunday. Use the C/O to build an extra 10% good lines and put the bottom 10% trash lines into opentime.

Quote: Better pilots? not really... I didn't say anything about pilot skill..
Being a better pilot not only includes skill, but judgment too and you clearly implied that a FDX or UPS pilot has better judgment than, i. e. a Skylease guy. Just read your post again. Classy.

well you say judgement is part of skill... I say it's in ADDITION to it. If you've flown with what we in the industry call a "PFO" you'll know that there are a few pilots out there flying around who know HOW to fly, but don't have the "judgement" to be a captain for example.

the judgement to work for a pilot pushing bottom feeder that bends and pulls on the regs is pretty pretty poor.. As is the judgement of preferring more block hours to safer operations.

Is that clear, or do you want me to type it in a different way?

Nope. Pretty clear. And still pretty classy.
