Quote: At first it wasn't to awful but each month got worse. I joined the scheduling committee and MM sent me the lines which looked great! Responded back with hey these look good everyone in base for the most part was happy. Then the lines come out to bid and they're nothing like what she sent me in fact they were brutal.
That is why I wanted nothing to do with the scheduling committee.

What gets me are the series of day trips that start with the first flight on day 1 and end on the last flight on day 4 or 5. 100% non-commutable. With nearly min days off, there is NO quality of life anymore...even for those of us who drive to work.

My line next month had 2 work periods that had commutability on one end...

Quote: AOO has never been commutable
Nothing like either getting no sleep and getting out on the 5 something flight after the 2 hours in a hotel and the awesome 40 minute cab rides. I miss it!

Here's how one month went for me...

Day -1, fly out to IAD then sit around for the 950pm, get in at 11:30, sleep in the "pilot lounge" upstairs using the office chairs as a bed (Or the futon.) 4:30 showtime for the ATL overnight 2 day...wonderful 7:59 day without showering the morning of.

Day two get in at 11:30pm, go upstairs and repeat Sunday night, wake up at 5:00am to jumpseat on the flight out to IAD, get home at around noon. Cry.

Those two months took a couple years off my life.

(Wasn't supposed to live past 25 anyway, right Kanye?)

Man I'm sorry to hear that it seemed like it was trending that way when I left.

It's gotten bad enough some are tossing around 12 days off for line holders in the next contract. That only happens when things get down to min days off for an extended period of time.

People need to stop going there even if it is to get current and bail.

I still stand by my thoughts that this place has potential.

You'll be the only one minus the hopefuls that talk smack but are too scared to leave, or guys that think they're going to upgrade soon.

There is a fine line between being happy and being realistic.
