and I can attend but a couple of questions.

1. I'm targeting Alaska as my #1 but do they have any "fast pass" time slots left?

2. Is the conference worth it if I can only attend one or two days?

3. If my sole intention is getting hired by Alaska....and can't get fast pass....is it pretty worthless to attend (aka a waste of money if I can't be seen).

4. Assuming Alaska does have time slots left....do I have to sign up for three days to get a fast pass (as stated earlier in the thread...just double checking its for ALL airlines).

5. Assuming I don't go....besides OBAP.....what other recruiting events does Alasks attend where I could get this type of face time?

You probably already figured it out if you were around today but if not, they were seeing people who didn't have fast passes. All you had to do was go in and sign up with the lady at the desk and they would try to work you into the schedule. I met 4 guys without FPs and they all got in after waiting like 30min. They were also seeing people and taking resumes in the main convention center hall. Actually, so were all the airlines that supposedly you had to have a fast pass for, or at least that's what I saw anyway.

Check out the Great Alaska Aviation Gathering in Anchorage in late April/early May. They also attend Oshkosh as well.

WIA was very well organized and a lot better experience for me than the NGPA. I had two FP's for Delta and Alaska. At NGPA I had a FP for Delta and waiting in line for United for like 8 hours. After the long wait for United, they ended up just bringing us in and taking our resumes. I don't think they anticipated the amount of people that wanted to talk to them.

With my past experience with United, I wasn't sure if I would be able to meet with them and didn't want to repeat my NGPA waiting time at WIA. So I just decided to walk around and talk to the vendors and enjoy the convention.

Had a great time talking with the Delta folks and enjoyed my experience with them this time around way more. The Delta recruiting team seemed more relaxed and less stressed. I am thinking it's because they weren't trying to see so many people in only one day. I hadn't applied at Alaska and didn't know if I really wanted to go there anyways. Delta has always been my #1 and the lack of scope at Alaska scares me (coming from regional hell will let you appreciate how important that is)

I will be returning to WIA next year based on my great experience there this year. Good job WIA organizers!

Completely agree. NGPA was a sh*t show. Had a great time at WIA and enjoyed talking to lots of folks. Well worth the $ in my opinion!

FWIW... It's WAI. Everyone seems to get it wrong even though they are members.
