Default WIA Conference

I know for some airline job fairs, it's recommended to leave your interview suit at home. Is it recommended to wear a suit to the WIA Conference if I'm going to speak to some airlines or not necessary?

The dress code for WIA is business formal, suit and tie.

You'll see everything from jeans to suits at WIA. Most of the jeans and khakis are college students, or people just there just to attend the conference for fun. Khakis and a polo are probably fine for those that just want to peruse the booths and get free stuff and maybe go to some workshops. But if you are looking for a job or want to do serious networking definitely wear a suit.

If you're going to the banquet Saturday, that is pretty formal, too. Like nice dress or suit and tie, or military mess dress.

Hoping to attend in Dallas in March. Can anyone tell me what the best day to go is (just don't have the $470 for all three days), and if I need to get airline specific tickets, or just register for the conference?

Thanks for all the info so far.

Last year, day one was crowded because everyone wanted to be first with the recruiters. Day two was packed because the exhibit hall was open the longest. Day three was not too crowded. It was probably the best day to meet with the recruiters. You can expect over 5K attendees this year. Make sure you show up early because the day is long.

Good luck and stop by our booth for free resume critique and career consulting.

You have to register then you get a preference of meeting with a number of airline recruiters based on the number of days you registered for. I registered for all 3 days so I get a scheduled day/time for 15 minutes with 3 recruiters. WAI seems to better in that sense that they offer scheduled times versus standing in lines.

Ive been able to get a spot on multiple airlines but they are showing no times available with American. It also says on the site "American Airlines - hiring requirements * American fast passes are for individuals who have already made an application with AA." I have an application on pilot credentials but i assume they are talking about something else. Anyone know?
