For palletized freight you are correct, it would not make sense.

However, Polet and volga Dnepr charge at least triple the price of a 747-400 for that AN-124 and the waiting period for one is 3 weeks if I have a load I want moved.

When it comes to outsized and oversized the Ukranians have the monopoly.

C-17 is much smaller than an124...Its like comparing 767 to 777
