Looks like the revised TA is DOA anyway. 'Sokay, it really didn't give much enhancement to the flow, and at too great a cost in concessions in other areas of our contract.

No, but Mr. Parker would like us to want one.

I for one can't afford a job at USAir.

He's selling pie in the sky at steep prices- "thank you, no."

Huh
So just to make sure i understand correctly... Eagle is offering newhires $5000 signing bonuses because there aren't enough pilots and now they want to lower payscales? Brilliant.

If Eagle is having a hard time hiring pilots now, why will they let large numbers flow?

As per Arbitrator Nicolau's grievance remedy, Eagle must release no fewer than 20 per month. Some may call that large, others might not.

This will be on top of attrition to other places.

That appears to be Mr. Parker's bright idea. Play ball, or the shrinkage will be even more drastic.

L-Eagle is not meeting hiring targets as it is. Create a B-scale. That will surely fix our hiring/retention problems.

Anybody else see the collapse of half of the nation's RJ flying as inevitable? I'd like to think that management of all the major airlines isn't that stupid.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHA

Sorry.

Sorry.

Sorry for what, exactly? For wishing that the days of a huge chunk of domestic being outsourced to sweatshop commuters paying horrible wages are numbered?

I say it can't come fast enough. Been at Eagle 9yrs, always enjoyed the work (believe it or not) but the compensation is beyond messed up, even now that I'm in the left seat.

I didn't get into this biz to fly an RJ between DCA and RDU for the rest of my career. If all these regional jobs became mainline jobs I say great. Can't wait.

Sorry for thinking that airline management would be proactive instead of reactive. It was a lapse.

Did I read here that a EMB RJ Captain cannot afford to go to work for USAir?

I flew for a regional for 10 years. I heard that hogwash all the time. And we lived in a very low cost of living city.

The egos I used to hear from were nauseating.

Go look at the American MOU info on APC home page. And then tell me you cannot afford to come to work at AA/UsAir.

I expect the following:
Well I earn 200% premium as an RJ Captain and selling my vacation back I always earn more than a major co-pilot! Besides I'm a Captain, I dont' want to sling gear and have to commute from my garden spot in Timbuk2. Besides major airlines unions have outlived their relevance and my career choice of a regional was a great decision for me. I also have a big house payment and my leased Honda is $199. a month. So I just couldn't make it on 1st year pay.
