Quote: Quick question - was told a guaranteed base of IAH with the EMB (I live in Ft Worth.) If the company opens up another base is that considered an involuntary displacement if you have Houston already? Any protections under the contract? This happened to me years ago as a junior captain with Independence (ACA). )
There is one thing looming. Many CRJ captains have filed a grievance against Mesa for not letting them cross bid over to the EMB. If they win this grievance. There will be captains that get displaced initially until more aircraft come online. What will they do? Some might take a FO slot in IAH until they can hold the left seat again or go back to the CRJ as captain. Since you have such an early class date you will have some seniority. I wouldn't sweat it. More than likely you will not be affected at all.

One small correction. If two airplanes are based in the same domicile. One of those aircraft have a reduction in flying which causes a displacement standing bid. Those who are voluntary or involuntary displaced can bid the other aircraft in order to stay in domicile. Only if their seniority can hold it. The base doesn't have to "close". As of right now the EMB is the only aircraft in IAH.

Is Mesa still doing phone interviews or are they back to doing them in person? Serious question.

I saw that they were doing on-sites at the upcoming FAPA event.

That isn't the question. Most airlines do face to face interviews at job fairs. That's what they are for.

Well if they are at the job fair I imagine it would be face to face genius.

Unless they have you leave the room and call them from the room next door.

Employers don't always interview at job fairs.

You're right! I bet they are giving job offers as SWAG at registration.
