Quote: does anyone know what Via is looking for on the 135 Citation X pilots?

I did see where they have a class starting for 145 pilots but unfortunately a move to WV isn't in the cards.... thanks all!
As line guys, we hear different things from different people from the company. I think that news, while solid that we're getting X's, was premature in announcement. From the minute amount of info we do get, I don't think management has a solid plan yet in regards to what they're going to do about staffing for the X's. Some of the 145 guys want in on that action. I do think that finding 145 guys that want to live in WV will be extremely difficult, and I'm quite certain that management now realizes that might not be the way to go.

Ideas are being floated around all the time. I hate to say tuned because people as a commodity are moving fast. But that's all anyone can do right now with Via. Stay tuned.

Thank you Walker. Always great info from you. I saw those new routes you posted, expansion is good. If you hear of anymore 145 hiring (home base or even st Augustine FL, let me know. Still following this thread and your info.

I keep pushing for home basing new FO's because they are getting no applications for WV base... I know, shocking right? But our HR lady just resigned so she could move to St Pete, so I'm not sure what's going to happen on the hiring front. If their fleet projection goes to plan, they will need to hire a lot in the next year

Home basing would be awesome. I never got a response from HR on all the emails I sent in. If there is a new person that comes in I'd like to get an email address to send my resume in again, especially is home-basing becomes an option again. Thank you Walker!

Quote: Not out of business. Caesars breached the contract, so Via has found numerous other contracts on both the E120 and E145. Fleet plan is to double E120 fleet from 4 to 8. E145 fleet is presently at 6 but rumor is 2-3 more coming on line in the next few months for an as yet unnamed customer. Company is paying all pilots full salary to sit at home until new contracts start, so the owner has work for us to do in the near future or they would have furloughed us all.

121 certificate is in hand and in use. 2 aircraft have already finished conformity with the rest scheduled to be completed by October.
Hey folks, I think that extra flying in wv on eas routes might be due to silver airways pulling out of three cities out of iad this weekend, Also how firm are those extra 120's that you mentioned.

That flying is indeed old Silver flying. EAS usually goes out to bid about every two years. Silver rebid on all the routes but Via got the nod (cities not happy with Silvers performance numbers)...Boutique, Southern Airways, Contour, and ADI also bid. The last fleetplan showed a slower addition of 120's, but they are going to add some. With the FRG-IAG seasonal flights coming to an end, all Brasilias will be in WV and a new 120 will be brought on for the Niagara flying in spring.

KLWB is actually an E145 route to KCLT now.
