Quote: I think people have to do what is right for them. Gojet worked as a means to and end for me, and did so with good QOL. I'm not sure that Gojet is the best place to be in the current environment, but it could be, depending on the individuals situation.

Bottom line: let people choose what's best for them.
It is possible to get through without having them ruin your career, if the stars are aligned. My uncle made it through the Korean War without being killed. But he was only one of the 2 is his platoon to do so and it was purely dumb luck. He didn't go on to talk about how great the battle was and how it might be right for you too! He would recommend a different point of attack.
The point is that every airline is hiring and there are better choices out there. There are airlines who will treat you fairly. There are airlines that will treat you with respect. There are airlines where they actually follow the contract. You don't need to take chances with your career. You don't need to be a gambler with your life. If you want to gamble go to Vegas.
Getting to a major is not an easy thing and you should not start out by taking bad chances.
SeekingBlue might have made it through ok but I bet he has several friends who did not. Give us the full story SeekingBlue and tell us what happened to them. Congratulations on your survival.

Quote: No not at all. In the session I listened to the director of recruiting for United said job switching to acquire pic time had no bearing on United's hiring decision. He did caution that they don't encourage it if it would cause family instability. It's that simple. In your interpretation it seems like you are saying United doesn't approve when that is not the case.

Again, the webinar will be published so we will know for sure soon enough. I want clarification THAT'S ALL.

That's really rich... seeing as how the airlines themselves have caused more "family instability" over the last several decades than any other factor!

Well I had nearly given up the lateral move idea until a week or so ago, I got a random unsolicited call from a local air ambulance company looking for King Air 90/200 captain with upgrade to the Lear in a year or so. It is about 1.5 hours from my hometown and offers amazing retirement and top notch compensation. I interview tomorrow and expect to get the job. Bye bye airlines, hello QOL.

How about no? 24/7 isn't legal under the 135 rest rules anyway. Get that ignorance out of here and enjoy your crappy regional life.. I've got checks to cash

Really? An unsolicited email? You ever stop and think why? I have NEVER heard of a GOOD company needing to do that. Also a GOOD retirement for a blue color union man is $4500 a month for life or $800K lump sump payment. Id really like to know what amazing is? BTW 1.5 hours prob ain't going to work out most want 45 min to the plane.

PS 24/7 is legal cause you don't know it yet, but a day you don't fly is one of your 4 per quarter.

The 24/7 was an exaggeration but I was on call 24 hours for two weeks then a week off.

My regional life is much better since I left the medevac industry.

The checks were nice doe

Quote: I've put a lot of thought towards those two. Envoy would be my preference
We've had people from Envoy come to SkyWest for QOL improvements. I have heard some scary things about Envoy...shrinkage, poor treatment, and poor future outlook. Just my .02

Do what you got do. But keep in mind that every move leaves a mark. Easier to sell yourself as someone who hung in there through thick and thin, than as a wanderer. Companies hesitate to hire the wanderer because they know you could jump ship the moment things don't meet your needs. But as has been said time and time again, take care of you. Good luck!

Quote: LOL! So someone disconnected from the reality of what regional pilots face says that what you are doing is disrupting your family? Tell that to a Comair guy who stuck out to the last day. Or the thousand+ Envoy/Endeavor guys that have left and many with lateral moves.
LMAO!!!!!

Nice avatar man! LOL!!!
