Wow, just about took every bit of sheet metal with it!!!

What's tangled up in there, almost looks like a weather balloon(How's that for speculation!)

PPW is well worth $10 of your "hard earned flying money", and its value goes FAR beyond a few pictures.

As far as this engine failure, it was an uncontained (obviously) failure of the fan section...the compressor section went ka-BLAM!

Sorry, no disrespect to APC, but call it a "teaser" for PPW. Boiler is right- there's more to PPW than just some pictures. These days I pretty much only regularly frequent two sites... this one and PPW.

As for the engine- I have no doubt that a weather balloon could do something like that... but I would surmise that the "fabric" we see drapped is either a protective covering that was hung on the engine, or more likely possibly the kevlar lining that is wrapped around the core to prevent shrapnel from penetrating the fuselage in the event of a failure?

It definitely looked like the Kevlar lining inside the engine shroud to me...

Quote: No reason to bring that shyt up. Very inconsiderate.
What was wrong with bringing that up? I missread the post I thought he was asking about when an engine went dead and that was the only one i remembered. I did not see he was speaking very current. Why does everything consider it "dissing" the dead? It was a fact. I simply stated I remembered because the guy was from Gulfstream because he also went to TSTC and I was debating going to gulfstream then and that's how that accident was associated with memory in my mind. I didn't diss anyone and frankly people just jumping out and saying that is one of those "issues" with people always jumping to the negative for no reason. People say they are expecting more out of me... well I'm expecting more out of some of you. Stating factual events isn't dissing anyone. I had no intention of such.
