Quote: Anyone heard rumors on how much the signing bonus will be?

Anyone heard rumors about how it will be paid, as in, lump sum or split as has been done in the past?
40k Cap 20k FO rumor

Quote: So your contract has been up since Oct 31 2010 right? But then you got something in terms of boost in pay right, so how long has it been since you received any kind of increase.
In truth our contract was renewed for 2 extra years. I don't remember if 2 or 3, 3% raises were part of the deal. It was called an interim contract, but it went through the whole section 6 process.

Not a good rumor. F/O pay is 75% of captain pay so the ratios should remain the same.

My source says the signing bonus is a huge pot of money given to the Association thus placing the burden of equity on ALPA's shoulders. Supposedly ALPA national is involved trying to figure out how to divide the pot. This is straight from the dude that loads the coolers on every flight.

Everybody knows that the f/o's only do half the work that the Capt does.

You bet all that draft to fly in the right seat, I am surprised it is only twice the work.

If I remember correctly, we had to wait a period of time (was it 6 months?) before we got the first installment. Why does it have to be that way? Why can't we just get the full amount up front? (we certainly have waited long enough for it). It just amounts to an interest free loan that we are giving the company, during that time period. We are floating them for 6 months, or whatever time period they hold onto our money.

Several things were phased in after periods of time. Just another way of showing us they were in control.

It's to make sure enough folks stick around to get us through peak.

Phasing it in over 2 years makes good tax sense for a lot of us.
