Unless you are 59+ in which I'm sure you'll notice a $100,000+ pat on the back to stay a few months longer and declare retirement dec 2015 or later.

While the rest of us watch our retirement earnings decline over the next 6-8 years...Brilliant!

Where is the 100K you speak of.

I'm in the demographic you just quoted and I won't get squat.

Why not? low time in service? empty DSA? not willing to declare which dec you are retiring?

Remember, you get the lesser of all 3 cases

I am not real senior in my Seat.

Not much in DSA and I don't want to not use vacation for 2 years.

Unlike many "Tough talkers" , I enjoy my time off.

Comprende?

So, SLB is just for 59+?

No.... 54+ but the 59+ is the main target to extend for a few more Decembers, in my opinion

SLB is for everyone. And, I would venture to say that the closer a pilot is to retirement right now, the less likely they'll be able to take advantage of it.

SLB Plus is for 54+

How's that? So you put in your retirement to retire on Dec 31st of 2016 instead of right now, and here's what you get. 35K bonus, 10% raise (30-40K, probably), 40K for the retirement notice. Over 100K, no SLB needed. I'd say that's a little more than squat.

I'm disappointed, I was hoping there were going to be tons of retirements this year, now it slides people through next years peak. However, the senior guys will all have vacation then, anyways, so maybe it doesn't help much during peak.

Couldn't someone make an argument that the slb is discriminatory? If somebody had a chronic condition that left them with zero dsa at retirement they would not get the end of career bonus. Healthy person gets the bonus and somebody with a health issue does not.
