This bit me once with a CIA c/o. I cannot believe I didn't remember it more clearly.
Wow, I'm shocked. I feel certain that I've had the min days honored a number of times, on makeup. I wonder if it's one of those rules that they interpret how they like, when they are short on manning. And what does the etc mean? As in, if you have a trip coded as swp, that is something you have chosen to do to your own schedule, but it's always treated the same as when coded as a trip. I wonder where that is written in the contract, probably under that special section that only scheduling has access to!

I just realized a new CRS tactic. I suspect it is completely intentional.

I saw it a few days ago, about 8 trips, all C/O into NOV, dropped into OT. All those trips would've fit the week on/week off pattern during the OCT bidpack, but they must have been held back. It hurt, because my hometown was in one of those C/O trips.

Well, guess what happens now that guys picked almost all of those up at straight time? They are NOT protected for min days off in NOV! Am I being a little paranoid? I don't think so because NOV shows several lines with the missing C/O trip that would correspond to it. In fact, I've never seen such few C/O lines. I am willing to bet $1 with anyone interested, that we will see C/O trips from NOV into DEC drop into OT sometime during the first 10 days of NOV. Guys will pick them up, flown at straight time, just like regular C/O, but min days off will NOT be protected. This is the case for MEM 757FO+CA seats. Keep an eye out for your particular seat.

....or, does this happen every Peak and I just didn't notice while in EUR?

I have not seen this happen into Nov or Dec. Every now and then we get a couple extras thrown in there that are carryover, but not many. I guess guys who pick those up had better try to conflict, if they don't want to work all month. However, I still wonder if instead of picking it up as makeup, if it would be protected if you traded trips earlier in the month for it, or everyone just swapped with each other to get it recoded.

Can't say why all the c/o dropped into open time for Oct bid month but Nov bid month ends with Thanksgiving weekend. Maybe no available d/h's on Sun afternoon/evening out of MEM so start trips on Mon of Dec bid month with the early am d/h. That would kill most of the c/o trips.

Gotcha. Thanks. I still find it strange to see all those C/O trips into NOV drop into OT at the same time.

Cloud are these normal 75 weeklong pairings or are these extra?

They were coded as X pairings, but were the exact same trips as those in the bidpack (at least the ones I was I able to see before they were picked up). I know this because I had bid for a few of the lines that contained those exact pairings.

So if you check the original pairing numbers from the bid pack are they still there or did they put the guys awarded them in to sub?

I didn't track it that far, since I was viewing them on my phone and was only interested in one with hometown layovers. Plus, it was going to be a swap - which is why I posed the question of min days off protection (still waiting to hear whether SOF and SWP code on c/o will allow min days off protection). But, both seats were open in the trips I did see.
